Lorde's Royals. She seems to profess one thing then behave in the exact opposite way, but since she is so intelligent she, I think, is playing " the Hollywood mentality", playing "the music industry" and is reaching out to the masses to get her message across, and performing on the Grammy's would be a great way to reach out. I think that there is an ever growing group of people who abhor the "Celebrity lifestyle", and don't get all excited about that carrot on a stick. Which is why I think she craves a different kind of buzz.
(Just saw 7:11 on my computer clock)
You couldn't get me to be a "Hollywood" celebrity for anything in the world. Don't want to live in Beverly Hills, Aspen or anywhere like that. I crave a different kind of buzz too. Something more realistic.
If you listen to her songs like Tennis Court, Buzzcut Season, Glory and Gore and White Teeth Teens, there is some real wisdom in her music. I understand Tennis Court, Royals and White Teeth Teens because I can deeply identify with those songs, but you have to kind of read between the lines to understand what she is trying to say.
In the video Dred mentioned, someone here at 11phenom. pointed out the same video that there is a television set with a snowy background with the number 11 on it. Makes me wonder if Ella is an 11er too. That can't be just a random number because there are no coincidences.
In her case I think she is very pure, and it is my feeling that she is as her album title reflects. I think she is a pure heroine. I have done what homework there is to do and she seems to be unusually gifted, not unlike Jimi Hendrix, both very young, musical geniuses'. She has written all of the songs on her album, Pure Heroine and I think she is too smart to fall for the "Hollywood" trap.
I'm 58 years old and I may have more life experiences that others here who are younger. On occasion I respectfully disagree with others. Dred says that you don't get fame through Hollywood or the music industry without completely selling out.
One thing I know for sure is that nothing is 100%. People get famous in Hollywood and through the music industry for all kinds of reasons. Some go for it because they are fame junkies, some are successful because they have natural acting or musical talents, and some just get lucky (or unlucky).
It's quite possible that Ella and the band are using "Hollywood" and the "music industry" to turn them on their ear.
Wouldn't that make sense? How clever would that be? Isn't that something that someone who are very intelligent would do? Outsmarting the one's who think they're so damn smart by being truly intelligent?
Let me finish by saying that sometimes we read too much into things and people have different interpretations of things like lyrics in songs. In my 58 years I've seen a lot of that too. And one last thing, fighting never gets us anywhere. Love you all.
