What happens to our brains when we meditate?
« on: June 18, 2014, 03:16:12 PM »
Hi Everyone. Somebody posted this earlier and I accidentally deleted it when I was deleting a spam post. Please let us know if you posted it. I have the body of it below, but not who posted it. It is an interesting topic that is involved in some form or other of most religions, as well as some non-religious practices... There have been medical studies that support that there are benefits to it.

"This is a very interesting article from Conscious life news.  If you have a few minutes, check it out. It has MRI imaging of how the brain nearly shuts down as you find your "quiet place."

Thanks for the posting that. It might be interesting to see if meditation has any effect on enlightening any of us in regards to the numbers phenomenon... I have been doing a little reading on Yoga and wonder if any of that could be in any way related or helpful. There is at least some aspect of that related to numbers/numerology. Possibly some stuff there to look at for a future time.

When you put it that way, that made me forget that not everyone here practices spirituality when it comes to numbers......but for those that do, this is an interesting article :) and for those that are curious about meditation and if it actually works (spolier...it does :P)

Pointman,

These are a couple of things I landed on when doing research recently. Maybe you are already familiar with them, but I thought it fit quite well with some of the stuff I saw, that you were talking about on the blog.

I have always been fascinated by invisible forces at work. Understanding them is an entirely different story though.
